Do not those who deny the truth see that the heavens and the earth were joined together and that We then split them asunder? And that We have made every living thing out of water? Will they still not believe? 30 And We have placed mountains as anchors in the earth so that it may not shake with them; and We kept wide roads in it, so that they may find guidance. 31 And We have made the heaven a roof, safe and well guarded. Yet they turn away from its signs (i.e. sun, moon, winds, clouds, etc.). 32 And He it is Who hath created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon, each in an orb floating. 33 We have not assigned to any mortal before thee to live forever; therefore, if thou diest, will they live forever? 34 Every soul must taste of death, and We try you with evil and with good, for ordeal. And unto Us ye will be returned. 35 And when the disbelievers see you, they do not appoint you except as an object of mockery; “Is he the one who speaks ill of your Gods?”; whereas they deny the remembrance of the Most Gracious Himself! 36 Man is hasty by nature. I shall certainly show you My Signs. Do not ask Me to be hasty. 37 And they say: when cometh this torment if ye are truth-tellers! 38 Had those who disbelieve but known (of the time) when they shall not be able to ward off the fire from their faces nor from their backs, nor shall they be helped. 39 It will come upon them unawares confounding them, and they will not be able to keep it back, nor will they be given respite. 40 Messengers indeed were mocked at before thee, but those that scoffed at them were encompassed by that they mocked at. 41
