Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ The indubitable event! 1 And what is that indubitable event? 2 And what do you know what that indubitable event is? 3 Thamud and 'Ad people denied the Qari'ah [the striking Hour (of Judgement)]! 4 So destroyed were the Thamud by a storm of thunder and lightning; 5 And the 'Ad were destroyed by the furious cold blast of roaring wind 6 violent that He compelled against them seven nights and eight days, uninterruptedly, and thou mightest see the people laid prostrate in it as if they were the stumps of fallen down palm-trees. 7 Then seest thou any of them left surviving? 8 Similarly, Pharaoh, and those before him, and the ruined villages, sinned 9 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, so He seized them with a seizure exceeding [in severity]. 10 But We bore you away in the Ark, when the waters rose high, 11 So that We may make it a reminder to you, and that the retaining ear might retain it. 12 Then when the Trumpet will be blown with one blowing (the first one), 13 and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and crushed with a single blow, 14 On that day, the inevitable event will take place 15 And the heaven shall cleave asunder, so that on that day it shall be frail, 16 and the angels shall stand upon its borders, and upon that day eight shall carry above them the Throne of thy Lord. 17 On that Day you shall be brought to judgment: not [even] the most hidden of your deeds will remain hidden. 18 On that Day, he whose Record is given to him in his right hand will say: “Lo! Read my Record! 19 Surely I knew that I should have to meet my reckoning. 20 So he will be in a pleasant life - 21 In a lofty Garden – 22 The fruits in bunches whereof will be low and near at hand. 23 Such people will be told, "Eat and drink with pleasure as the reward for what you did in the past". 24 And whoever is given his book in his left hand – he will say, “Alas, if only my account were not given to me!” 25 “And had never come to know my account!” 26 Would that it (my death) had ended it all! 27 My wealth hath not availed me, 28 There hath perished from me my authority. 29 It will be said, “Seize him, and shackle him.” 30 Roast him in Hell, 31 And then insert him in a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits. 32 for he did not believe in Almighty God, 33 nor were they concerned with feeding the destitute. 34 So no friend has he here this Day, 35 nor any food except foul pus 36 "Which none do eat but those in sin." 37
