The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
I swear by the heaven and the comer by night; 1 what do you know what the night-visitor is? 2 (It is a nightly radiant star). 3 No human soul but hath a guardian over it. 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 He was created from spurting fluid, 6 That issueth from between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 By the sky with its returning rain, 11 And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. 12 Verily, it is a discourse distinguishing. 13 and is not to be taken lightly. 14 They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, 15 And I am plotting a plot. 16 Let, then, the deniers of the truth have their will: let them have their will for a little while. 17
