۞ (Then will the command be given): “Muster all the wrong-doers and their spouses and the deities whom they used to serve 22 apart from God, and guide them unto the path of Hell! 23 And halt them, to be questioned: 24 'But what is the matter with you that you cannot help one another?,'" 25 indeed, on that Day they will surrender themselves. 26 They will turn to each other saying, 27 saying: 'You used to come to us from the right hand' 28 The oppressors will say, "Rather, you [yourselves] were not believers, 29 we had no authority over you; no, you were an insolent people. 30 The sentence of our Lord has come true for us. We have certainly to taste (the punishment), 31 "We led you astray: for truly we were ourselves astray." 32 And verily, on that Day they all will share in their common suffering. 33 As such We shall deal with the evildoers. 34 For they, when they were told that there is no god except Allah, would puff themselves up with Pride, 35 And were saying, "Are we to leave our gods for a mad poet?" 36 No, indeed, he has brought the truth, and confirmed the Messengers. 37 Most surely you will taste the painful punishment. 38 And you will not be recompensed except for what you used to do - 39 Except for God's sincere servants; 40 there is waiting for them a known provision; 41 Fruits; and they will be honoured. 42 In the Gardens of delight, 43 seated on couches, facing one another. 44 A bowl shall be made to go round them from water running out of springs, 45 White, a pleasure unto the drinkers. 46 there is neither sickness in it, nor intoxication. 47 And with them are those of modest gaze, with lovely eyes, 48 as if they were hidden pearls. 49 Then some of them will turn to others, and will ask each other. 50 A speaker of them saith: Lo! I had a comrade 51 who would say, "Are you a confirmer? 52 "'When we die and become dust and bones, shall we indeed receive rewards and punishments?'" 53 And he will reply: 'Are you looking down (into Hell)' 54 and then he looks and sees that [companion of his] in the midst of the blazing fire, 55 He will say to him: -- By Allah, you almost ruined me. 56 “And were it not for the munificence of my Lord, I too would have been seized and brought forth (captive)!” 57 Are we then not to die 58 "Except our first death, and that we shall not be punished?" 59 Indeed, this is the mighty victory, 60 For the like of this then let the workers work. 61 Is this not a better reward than the tree of Zaqqum 62 We have made this (tree) a trial for the evildoers. 63 It is a tree that grows at the bottom of Hell. 64 Its spathes are like the heads of satans. 65 Truly, they will eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 And behold, above all this they will be confounded with burning despair! 67 Then thereafter, verily, their return is to the flaming fire of Hell. 68 Verily, they found their fathers on the wrong path; 69 and they run in their footsteps. 70 And truly before them, many of the ancients went astray;- 71 And certainly We sent among them warners. 72 See how those who were warned met their end! 73 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 74
