۞ It is God who subjugated the ocean for you so that ships may ply through it by His command, and you may seek His bounty, and may haply be grateful. 12 And has subjected to you all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth; it is all as a favour and kindness from Him. Verily, in it are signs for a people who think deeply. 13 Tell the believers to forgive those who do not fear the visitations of God, so that He may requite the people for their deeds. 14 If any one does a righteous deed, it ensures to the benefit of his own soul; if he does evil, it works against (his own soul). In the end will ye (all) be brought back to your Lord. 15 AND, INDEED, [already] unto the children of Israel did We vouchsafe revelation, and wisdom, and prophethood; and We provided for them sustenance out of the good things of life, and favoured them above all other people [of their time]. 16 And We gave them clear proofs in the command; so they did not differ except after the knowledge had come to them – due to jealousy among themselves; indeed your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning the matter in which they differ. 17 And now, We have set you on the jurisprudence of the Command, therefore follow it and do not follow the desires of those who do not know. 18 They can be of no avail to you against God. The wrongdoers are friends of one another, while the friend of the righteous is God. 19 This is clear proofs for men, and a guidance, and a mercy to a people having sure faith. 20 Now as for those who indulge in sinful doings - do they think that We place them, both in their life and their death, on an equal footing with those who have attained to faith and do righteous deeds? Bad, indeed, is their judgment: 21
