A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)

206 verses, revealed in Mecca after S (Saad) before Jinns (Al-Jinn)

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

۞ Alif-Lam-Mim-Sad. 1 A Book revealed unto thee,- So let thy heart be oppressed no more by any difficulty on that account,- that with it thou mightest warn (the erring) and teach the Believers). 2 "Follow what has been sent down unto you by your Sustainer, and follow no masters other than Him. How seldom do you keep this in mind! 3 And many a township did We destroy – so Our punishment came to them at night or while they were sleeping at noon. 4 When Our wrath struck them, they could do nothing but confess to their sins. 5 Then shall we question those to whom Our message was sent and those by whom We sent it. 6 So indeed We shall inform them with Our knowledge and We were not absent. 7 The weighing on that day is the true (weighing). As for those whose scale is heavy, they are the successful. 8 And as for those whose scale is light: those are they who lose their souls because they used to wrong Our revelations. 9 We have made you inhabit the land and provided you with the means of sustenance. Only a few of you give thanks. 10
