Observedest thou him who turned away? 33 And he gave a little, then refrained? 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the Unseen, and therefore he sees? 35 Or, has he not been informed of what is in the scriptures of Musa? 36 And Abraham who paid his debt: 37 Namely, that no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another; 38 and that a man shall have to his account only as he has laboured, 39 and that his labouring shall surely be seen, 40 Then will he be rewarded with a reward complete; 41 That to thy Lord is the final Goal; 42 and that He it is Who causes people to laugh and to cry, 43 and that it is He who causes to die, and causes to live 44 and that it is He who created pairs, the male and the female, 45 from an ejaculated drop (of sperm), 46 And that upon Him is another bringing forth. 47 And that it is He Who enricheth and preserveth property. 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius; 49 and that it is He who destroyed the ancient [tribes of] Ad 50 And destroyed the tribe of Thamud, not sparing anyone? 51 and before them the people of Noah who were even more unjust and insolent; 52 And that it is He Who threw down the upturned townships? 53 So that there covered them that which did cover. 54 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 55 THIS IS a warning like those warnings of old: 56 The Hour that was to come draws ever nearer. 57 None beside Allah can disclose it. 58 Do you, perchance, find this tiding strange? 59 Why do you laugh rather than weep? 60 While you are indulging in varieties. 61 So fall you down in prostration to Allah, and worship Him (Alone). ۩ 62
