Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Say: It has been revealed to me that a company of Jinns listened (to the Qur'an). They said, 'We have really heard a wonderful Recital! 1 'It guides to the Right Path, and we have believed therein, and we shall never join (in worship) anything with our Lord (Allah). 2 And that He-- exalted be the majesty of our Lord-- has not taken a consort, nor a son: 3 And that the foolish one among us used to speak concerning Allah an atrocious lie. 4 And we had thought that mankind and the jinn would never speak about Allah a lie. 5 But there were certain men from mankind who would take refuge with certain males from the jinn and they increased them in tyranny. 6 ‘And that they assumed, like you humans assume, that Allah would not send any Noble Messenger.’ 7 We sought to reach heaven, but found it filled with strong guards and flames -- 8 ‘And that we sometimes used to sit in some places in the sky, to listen; so whoever now listens finds a fiery comet waiting for him.’ 9 And we know not whether harm is boded unto all who are in the earth, or whether their Lord intendeth guidance for them. 10 And that some of us are good and others of us are below that: we are sects following different ways: 11 We know that we cannot frustrate Allah in the earth, nor can we frustrate Him by flight. 12 Hence, as soon as we heard this [call to His] guidance, we came to believe in it: and he who believes in his Sustainer need never have fear of loss or injustice. 13 "'Yet [it is true] that among us are such as have surrendered themselves to God - just as there are among us such as have abandoned themselves to wrongdoing. Now as for those who surrender themselves to Him - it is they that have attained to consciousness of what is right; 14 And as for the Qasitun (disbelievers who deviated from the Right Path), they shall be firewood for Hell, 15 Had they (jinn and mankind) remained steadfast in their religion (Islam), We would certainly have given them abundant water to drink 16 That We might try them there by. And whosoever turneth aside from the remembrance of his Lord, him He shall thrust into a torment vehement. 17 "And the places of worship are for Allah (alone): So invoke not any one along with Allah; 18 Yet [thus it is] that whenever a servant of God stands up in prayer to Him, they [who are bent on denying the truth] would gladly overwhelm him with their crowds. 19
