The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 in obedience to the commands of their Lord which are incumbent on them, 2 And when the earth is stretched forth, 3 And casts forth what is within it and becomes (clean) empty, 4 in obedience to the commands of its Lord which are incumbent on it, (the human being will receive due recompense for his deeds). 5 Thou, verily, O man, art working toward thy Lord a work which thou wilt meet (in His presence). 6 Then as to him who shall be given his book in his right hand 7 He shall be reckoned with by an easy reckoning, 8 And he will turn to his people, rejoicing! 9 But as for those whose Book of records will be given behind their backs, 10 he will pray for utter destruction 11 and will enter the Blazing Fire. 12 Verily he was among his people joyous. 13 for he never thought that he would have to return [to God]. 14 Yea! surely his Lord does ever see him. 15 I swear by the glow of sunset, 16 And by oath of the night and all that gathers in it. 17 and the moon when it is at the full, 18 that you will certainly pass through one stage after another. 19 But what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 When the Quran is read to them, why do they not fall to their knees? ۩ 21 Nay, (on the contrary), those who disbelieve, belie (Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and whatever he brought, i.e. this Quran and Islamic Monotheism, etc.). 22 And Allah well knows what they conceal in their hearts. 23 Hence, give them the tiding of grievous suffering [in the life to come] 24 But for those who believe and do good works; for them there shall be a never-ending reward. 25
