O YOU APOSTLES! Partake of the good things of life, and do righteous deeds: verily, I have full knowledge of all that you do. 51 Surely this community of yours is one community, and I am your Lord; so fear Me.' 52 But then they divided up their order into different creeds, each section rejoicing in what it had come to have. 53 But leave them in their confused ignorance for a time. 54 Do they think that because We have granted them abundance of wealth and sons, 55 We vie in good works for them? Nay, but they are not aware. 56 Only those who are, out of fear of Him, humble before their Lord, 57 And those who in the signs of their Lord do believe. 58 And those who with their Lord associate not anyone. 59 And those who give whatsoever they give, while their hearts are anxious that unto their Lord they are to be returners. 60 Are the ones who hasten to goodness and outpace the others. 61 And We task not any soul except according to its capacity, and with Us is a book speaking with truth, and they will not be wronged. 62 Nay, their hearts are lost in ignorance of all this; and their deeds too vary from the way (mentioned above). They will persist in these deeds 63 But then when We seize the affluent among them, they will cry out for help. 64 Cry not for succor this day; surely you shall not be given help from Us. 65 Our revelations had certainly been recited to you, but you turned your backs to them 66 In arrogance regarding it, conversing by night, speaking evil. 67 Have they not pondered the saying, or came there upon them that which came not upon their fathers, the ancients? 68 Or is it, perchance, that they have not recognized their Apostle, and so they disavow him? 69 Or, say they: in him is madness? O Aye he brought them the truth, and most of them to the truth are averse. 70 Had truth been subject to their whims the heavens and the earth and all those within them would have been depraved. In fact We had sent them their reminder, but they turned away from good advice. 71 Or dost thou ask them for tribute? Yet the tribute of thy Lord is better, and He is the best of providers. 72 And indeed, you invite them to a straight path. 73 And most surely those who do not believe in the hereafter are deviating from the way. 74 ۞ Did We have mercy on them, and remove the affliction that is upon them, they would persist in their insolence wandering blindly. 75 Already have We grasped them with punishment, but they humble not themselves unto their Lord, nor do they pray, 76 Until when We have opened before them a door of severe punishment, immediately they will be therein in despair. 77
