The Statute Book (Al-Furqaan)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Blest be He who hath revealed the Criterion unto His bondman that he may be unto the worlds a warner. 1 The One to Whom belongs the kingship of the heavens and of the earth, and has not chosen a child, and has no partner in His kingship, and He has created everything and kept it in proper measure. 2 Yet the people have set up, besides Him, deities, who do not create anything but are themselves created: who can neither harm nor help even themselves: who have no power over life or death, nor can they raise up the dead. 3 The unbelievers say: 'This is but a falsehood he has forged? another nation has helped him' So they have come with wrong and falsehood. 4 And they said, “These are stories of the former people, which he has written down, so they are read to him morning and evening.” 5 Proclaim (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “It is sent down by Him Who knows all the secrets of the heavens and the earth; indeed He Oft Forgiving, Most Merciful." 6 And they said, “What is the matter with this (Noble) Messenger, that he eats food and walks in the markets? Why was not an angel sent down along with him, to give warning along with him?” 7 "Or (why) has not a treasure been granted to him, or why has he not a garden whereof he may eat?" And the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers, etc.) say: "You follow none but a man bewitched." 8 Just see what strange arguments they bring forward with regard to you! They have gone so far astray that they cannot charge any thing against you. 9
