(Recount to them about the time) when Your Lord called Moses: "Go to the wrong-doing people, 10 the people of Pharaoh, who refuse to be conscious of Me!" 11 He said: "My Lord! Verily, I fear that they will belie me, 12 And that my breast will tighten and my tongue will not be fluent, so send for Aaron. 13 And they have a charge (of murder) against me. So I fear that they will kill me." 14 He said: By no means, so go you both with Our signs; surely We are with you, hearing; 15 go both to Pharaoh and both of you say to him: 'We are (each) a Messenger from the Lord of all the Worlds. 16 (Saying): Let the Children of Israel go with us. 17 Pharaoh said: "Did we not bring you up among us when you were a child? 18 You spent many years of your life among us and then you committed that deed of yours. You are very ungrateful indeed." 19 Said Moosa, “I did that at a time when I was unaware of the consequences.” (In anger – See verse 28:15) 20 so I fled from you, fearing you. But my Lord gave me Judgment and made me one of the Envoys. 21 Now this is the favour that you tauntingly remind me of: that you enslaved the Children of Israel!" 22 Firon said: And what is the Lord of the worlds? 23 'He' (Moses) replied: 'is the Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if you believe' 24 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said to those around: "Do you not hear (what he says)?" 25 [Moses] said, "Your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers." 26 [Pharaoh] said, "Indeed, your 'messenger' who has been sent to you is mad." 27 'He is the Lord of the East and the West' said he (Moses), 'and all that is between them, if you could understand' 28 Fir'awn said: if thou wilt take a god other than me, I shall surely place thee among the prisoners. 29 and Moses asked, "Even if I show you a clear sign?" 30 Said he, 'Bring it then, if thou art of the truthful.' 31 Moses threw his staff and suddenly it became a serpent. 32 And he drew forth his hand and lo! it was white to the beholders. 33
