۞ AND [there came a time when] We inspired Moses thus: "Go forth with My servants by night: for, behold, you will be pursued!" 52 Then Pharaoh sent among the cities musterers: 53 [bidding them to call out his troops and to proclaim:] "Behold, these [children of Israel] are but a contemptible band; 54 "And verily, they have done what has enraged us; 55 "But we are a multitude amply fore-warned." 56 We deprived them (the unbelievers) of gardens, springs, 57 And treasures and a station noble. 58 even so, and We bequeathed them upon the Children of Israel. 59 So the Firaun’s people followed them at sunrise. 60 And when the two parties saw each other, the companions of Musa said: verily we are overtaken. 61 Said he, 'No indeed; surely my Lord is with me; He will guide me.' 62 Then We bade Moses strike the sea with his staff. And it parted, and each part was like a huge mountain. 63 We also brought the other party close to the same spot, 64 and We delivered Moses and those with him all together; 65 But We drowned the others. 66 Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers. 67 Indeed your Lord is mighty and merciful. 68
