Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Alif-Lam-Meem. (Alphabets of the Arabic language – Allah, and to whomever He reveals, know their precise meanings.) 1 These are revelations of the wise Scripture, 2 A guidance and a mercy for the good, 3 who perform the prayer, and pay the alms, and have sure faith in the Hereafter. 4 These are on a guidance from their Lord, and these are they who are successful: 5 But there are, among men, those who purchase idle tales, without knowledge (or meaning), to mislead (men) from the Path of Allah and throw ridicule (on the Path): for such there will be a Humiliating Penalty. 6 And when Our signs are recited to such a man he turns away, waxing proud, as though he heard them not, and in his ears were heaviness; so give him good tidings of a painful chastisement. 7 Surely for those who believe and do the right are pleasure gardens. 8 Abiding in them; the promise of Allah; (a) true (promise), and He is the Mighty, the Wise. 9 He hath created the heavens that ye behold without pillars, and hath cast into the earth firm mountains lest it move away with you; and He hath scattered thereon every kind of animal. And We send down water from the heaven and We make grow every kind of goodly growth therein. 10 Such is Allah's creation. Show me, then, what any others, apart from Allah, have created. Nay, the fact is that the wrong-doers are in manifest error. 11
