And Nuh did certainly call upon Us, and most excellent answerer of prayer are We. 75 And We delivered him and his people from the Great Calamity, 76 And his offspring! them We made the survivors. 77 We perpetuated his praise in later generations. 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the nations. 79 As such We recompense the gooddoers, 80 Surely he was of Our believing servants. 81 Then We drowned the others. 82 ۞ And verily of his sect was Ibrahim. 83 When he came to his Lord, with a sound heart. (Free from falsehood). 84 and when he said to his father and to his nation: 'What do you worship? 85 Why do you solicit false gods instead of God? 86 what, then, is your opinion of the Lord of the worlds? 87 He then shot a glance at the stars. 88 and said: 'Surely, I am sick (of what you worship)' 89 And they turned their backs on him and went away. (The pagans thought he would transmit the disease). 90 and he turned to their idols and asked them, "Do you eat? 91 What aileth ye that ye speak not? 92 He then began striking them with his right hand, unseen by the people. 93 Then the people came toward him, hastening. 94 but he said, "How can you worship things you carve with your own hands, 95 “Whereas Allah has created you and your actions?” 96 They said, "Build him a furnace, and throw him into the blazing fire!" 97 So they contrived a plot against him, but We made them abject. 98 He said, "I will go to my Lord: He is sure to guide me. 99 My Lord, grant me a righteous (son)' 100 So We gave him tidings of a gentle son. 101 And when he reached the age of traveling with him, he said: 'My son, while I was sleeping I saw that I shall slaughter (sacrifice) you, tell me what is your opinion' He replied: 'Father, do as you are ordered (by Allah). Allah willing, you shall find me one of those who are steadfast' 102 And when they had both submitted, and his son had laid down prostrate upon his forehead, 103 We called to him, "Abraham, 104 Of a surety thou hast fulfilled the vision. Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. 105 That was indeed a trying test. 106 And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice, 107 And left (his hallowed memory) for posterity. 108 Peace be upon Abraham. 109 As such We recompense the gooddoers. 110 truly, he was one of Our faithful servants. 111 We gave him the glad news of the birth of Isaac, one of the righteous Prophets. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. And of their seed are some who do good, and some who plainly wrong themselves. 113
