The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
O, you, wrapped in your cloak, 1 Rise up and warn! 2 And proclaim the Purity of your Lord. 3 and purify your clothing, 4 And keep away from Ar-Rujz (the idols)! 5 And show not favour, seeking wordly gain! 6 be patient unto your Lord. 7 And when the trumpet is blown, 8 it will be a hard day 9 not an easy day for the unbelievers. 10 Leave Me alone, (to deal) with the (creature) whom I created (bare and) alone!- 11 And give him vast riches, 12 and children as [love's] witnesses, 13 whose life I have made run smoothly 14 yet he is eager that I increase him. 15 Never will he receive more. He has been hostile to Our revelations. 16 On him I shall impose a fearful doom. 17 He reflected, and then determined 18 death seized him, how was his determining! 19 May be then be accursed, how he plotted! 20 Then he looked round; 21 Then he frowned and he looked in a bad tempered way; 22 Then turned he back, and grew stiff-necked. 23 said, "This (the Quran) is nothing but magic, inherited from ancient magicians. 24 Nothing more than the speech of a man!" 25 I will soon fling him into hell. 26 What will let you know what the Scorching is like! 27 It shall not spare, nor leave. 28 Darkening and changing the colour of man! 29 Over it are nineteen (angels guarding). 30 And We have set none but angels as Guardians of the Fire; and We have fixed their number only as a trial for Unbelievers,- in order that the People of the Book may arrive at certainty, and the Believers may increase in Faith,- and that no doubts may be left for the People of the Book and the Believers, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the Unbelievers may say, "What symbol doth Allah intend by this?" Thus doth Allah leave to stray whom He pleaseth, and guide whom He pleaseth: and none can know the forces of thy Lord, except He and this is no other than a warning to mankind. 31
