Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

DESTROYED WILL BE the hands of Abu Lahab, and he himself will perish. 1 His wealth and his children (etc.) will not benefit him! 2 He will soon enter the flaming fire. 3 and his wife, laden with firewood 4 A twisted rope of palm-leaf fibre round her (own) neck! 5

True are the words of God the Almighty.
