The people of Lot accused the messengers of lies. 160 Their brother Lot asked them, "Why do you not have fear of God? 161 Behold, I am an apostle [sent by Him] to you, [and therefore] worthy of your trust: 162 So fear God and listen to me. 163 And I ask of you no wage therefor; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds. 164 What! do you come to the males from among the creatures 165 And leave what your Lord has created for you as mates? But you are a people transgressing." 166 They said: "If you do not desist, O Lot, you will be expelled (from the city)." 167 He said: 'Truly, I am a detester of what you do' 168 My Lord, save me and my family from [the consequence of] what they do." 169 Then We delivered him and all his family 170 except for an old woman who stayed behind, 171 But the rest We destroyed utterly. 172 and We sent upon them a rain, an evil rain that fell on those who had been warned. 173 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 174 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 175
