There is a sign in the dead earth for them which We quicken, and produce from it grain which they eat. 33 And We placed therein gardens of palm trees and grapevines and caused to burst forth therefrom some springs - 34 That they may eat of the fruit thereof, and their hands made it not. Will they not, then, give thanks? 35 Holy is He who created all things in pairs; of what the earth grows, and of themselves, and other things which they do not know. 36 A sign for them is the night. From it We withdraw the day and they are in darkness. 37 And the sun runneth on unto a resting-place for him. That is the measuring of the Mighty, the Wise. 38 And the moon, We have determined it in phases till it returns like an old palmbranch. 39 It is not allowable for the sun to reach the moon, nor does the night overtake the day, but each, in an orbit, is swimming. 40 And an Ayah (sign) for them is that We bore their offspring in the laden ship [of Nuh (Noah)]. 41 and [that] We create for them things of a similar kind, on which they may embark [in their travels]; 42 And if We please, We can drown them, then there shall be no succorer for them, nor shall they be rescued 43 Except by way of Mercy from Us, and by way of (world) convenience (to serve them) for a time. 44 And when it is said to them, “Beware of what is before you and what is behind you, in the hope of your gaining mercy”, they turn away! 45 And never came an Ayah from among the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of their Lord to them, but they did turn away from it. 46 And when it is said to them, "Spend from that which Allah has provided for you," those who disbelieve say to those who believe, "Should we feed one whom, if Allah had willed, He would have fed? You are not but in clear error." 47 The unbelievers say, "When will the Day of Judgment come if what you say is at all true?" 48 They will not (have to) wait for aught but a single Blast: it will seize them while they are yet disputing among themselves! 49 Then they will not be able to make a will or return to their families. 50
