The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 by the drawers (the angels of death), gently drawing (the souls of the believers), 2 And who glide with ease. 3 By the angels hastening, 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 and gathered his people and declared: 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
