The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the sky containing great stars 1 and [then bethink thyself of] the promised Day, 2 by the witness and the witnessed, 3 Cursed were the companions of the trench 4 the makers of the fuel-stoked fire! 5 When they sat by it, 6 And they themselves are witnesses to what they were doing to the Muslims! 7 And what did they dislike from the Muslims, except that the Muslims accepted faith in Allah the Most Honourable, the Most Praiseworthy? 8 to whom belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth. God is witness over all things. 9 Verily, as for those who persecute believing men and believing women, and thereafter do not repent, hell's suffering awaits them: yea, suffering through fire awaits them! 10 Indeed those who believed and did good deeds – for them are Gardens beneath which rivers flow; this is the great success. 11 The grip of your Lord is indeed severe, 12 Surely He it is Who originates and reproduces, 13 And He is the Oft-Forgiving, Full of Loving-Kindness, 14 Owner of the throne, the Glorious 15 Doer of whatsoever He intendeth. 16 Has it come to you the story of the hosts 17 the armies of Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 But those who disbelieve are engaged in denial. 19 And Allah, all unseen, surroundeth them. 20 Aye! it is a Recitation glorious, 21 inscribed on a well-guarded Tablet. 22
