The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 and what could make you know what it is that comes in the night? 2 The piercing star! 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 So man must consider from what he has been created. 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. 8 On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 And is not a matter of amusement. 14 Surely they will make a scheme, 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Comet (Al-Taareq). Sent down in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
