Believers, do not devour usury multiplied many times over. Fear God, so that you may prosper, 130 Keep away from the Fire prepared for the infidels; 131 And obey Allah and the apostle, haply ye may be shewn mercy. 132 ۞ And vie with one another to attain to your Sustainer's forgiveness and to a paradise as vast as the heavens and the earth, which has been readied for the God-conscious 133 Those who spend [in Allah's Cause - deeds of charity, alms, etc.] in prosperity and in adversity, who repress anger, and who pardon men; verily, Allah loves Al-Muhsinun (the good-doers). 134 And those who, if they commit a shameful act or some wrong against themselves, remember God and seek forgiveness for their sins: For who can forgive except God? They should not be perverse about their doings, knowingly. 135 Their reward will be forgiveness from their Lord and gardens wherein streams flow and wherein they will live forever. How blessed is the reward of those who labor. 136 There are many examples [of the communities] that have passed away before you: travel through the land, and see what was the end of those who rejected the Truth. 137 This is a plain exposition for men, and a guidance and admonition for the Godfearing. 138 And do not become faint of heart, nor grieve, you will have the upper hand, if you are believers, 139 If a wound has afflicted you (at Ohud), a wound like it has also afflicted the (unbelieving) people; and We bring these days to men by turns, and that Allah may know those who believe and take witnesses from among you; and Allah does not love the unjust. 140 test the faith of the believers, and deprive the unbelievers of (His) blessings. 141 Did you think that you could go to Paradise before God knew which of you fought for His cause and which of you bore patience? 142 You were longing for death, before you met it. Now you have seen it with your own eyes. 143
