But the leaders of his people who denied the truth and denied the Meeting in the Hereafter, because We had granted them ease and plenty in their worldly life, said, "This is only a human being like yourselves, he eats what you eat, and drinks what you drink, 33 If you follow a mortal like yourselves you will certainly be lost. 34 What! does he threaten you that when you are dead and become dust and bones that you shall then be brought forth? 35 ۞ Away, away with that you are promised! 36 "There is nothing but our life of this world! We die and we live! And we are not going to be resurrected! 37 He is naught but a man who has forged a lie against Allah, and we are not going to believe in him. 38 (The prophet) said: "O my Lord! help me: for that they accuse me of falsehood." 39 He replied: 'Before long, by the morning, they shall be remorseful' 40 And the Cry seized them justly, and We made them as scum; so away with the people of the evildoers! 41 Then, after them, We brought forth other generations. 42 No nation can outstrip its term, nor yet postpone it. 43 Thereafter We sent Our apostles, successively. So oft as there came unto a community their apostle, they belied him, so We made them follow one another, and We made them bywords; so away with a people who believe not! 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our signs and clear authority 45 unto Pharaoh and his Council; but they waxed proud, and they were a lofty people, 46 and they said, 'What, shall we believe two mortals like ourselves, whose people are our servants?' 47 Thus, they gave the lie to those two, and earned (thereby) their place among the doomed: 48 And We gave Moses the Book, in order that they might receive guidance. 49 And We made Mary's son, and his mother, a Sign, and We gave them refuge on a lofty ground, a peaceful site with springs flowing in it. 50
