The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ What do they quarrel about? 1 About the great news - 2 Regarding which they hold different views. 3 No indeed; they shall soon know! 4 Again surely yes, they will soon come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse, 6 And the high hills bulwarks? 7 Have We not created you in pairs, 8 and gave you repose in sleep, 9 And made the night a cover. 10 And the day for seeking livelihood. 11 Have We not made seven strong heavens above you, 12 And have made (therein) a shinning lamp (sun). 13 And then sent down hard rain from the water bearing clouds. 14 That We may bring forth thereby grain and vegetation 15 and gardens dense with foliage. 16 VERILY, the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false] has indeed its appointed time: 17 On that Day when the trumpet shall be sounded, you shall come in droves, 18 The heavens will be opened wide and turn into so many doors, 19 and the mountains move, and vaporize. 20 Indeed, Gehenna (Hell) has become an ambush, 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 Living therein for ages. 23 Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink. 24 Except scalding water and [foul] purulence - 25 a fitting requital, 26 Indeed, they did not hope for a Reckoning, 27 And rejected Our signs as lies. 28 but We have placed on record every single thing [of what they did]. 29 'Taste! We shall not increase you except in punishment' 30
