The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun is covered, 1 And when the stars fall, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 when the souls are coupled (to their body), 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 Your companion (Muhammad) does not suffer from any mental illness 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
