Observedest thou him who turned away? 33 And gave a little, then was grudging? 34 Does he [claim to] have knowledge of something that is beyond the reach of human perception, so that he can see [it clearly]? 35 Or has he not been told of what is in the scrolls of Moses, 36 and about Abraham who fulfilled his duty (to God)? 37 To wit, that a burthened soul shall not bear the burthen of another. 38 and that nought shall be accounted unto man but what he is striving for; 39 And that his effort will be seen. 40 Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense 41 and that the final end is with your Lord, 42 that it is He who causes to laugh and causes to weep. 43 It is He who causes death and gives life. 44 That He created pairs, male and female, 45 from a discharged living germ 46 And that upon Him (Allah) is another bringing forth (Resurrection); 47 That it is He Who giveth wealth and satisfaction; 48 And that He is the Lord of the Sirius; 49 that He it is Who destroyed the ancient 'Ad, 50 And Thamud (people). He spared none of them. 51 and before them the people of Noah who were even more unjust and insolent; 52 And Al-Mu'tafikah He destroyed 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 So which then of your Lord's favors do you dispute? 55 He (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) is a Herald of Warning, like the former Heralds of Warning. 56 The approaching event has come near. 57 There shall be none besides Allah to remove it. 58 Do you then find these tidings strange? 59 And laugh and not weep, 60 and divert yourselves all the while? 61 Rather, prostrate to Allah and worship Him. ۩ 62
