Say: 'Should we call in place of God one who can neither help nor do us harm, and turn back after having been guided by God, like a man beguiled by the devils who wanders perplexed in the wilderness while his friends call him back to the right path, saying: 'Come to us, this way?' Say: "God's guidance is (true) guidance, and we have been commanded to submit to the Lord of all the worlds. 71 And to establish worship and be dutiful to Him, and He it is unto Whom ye will be gathered. 72 And it is He who created the heavens and earth in truth. And the day He says, "Be," and it is, His word is the truth. And His is the dominion [on] the Day the Horn is blown. [He is] Knower of the unseen and the witnessed; and He is the Wise, the Acquainted. 73 ۞ And recall when Abraham said to his father, Azar: 'Do you take idols for gods? I see you and your people in obvious error.' 74 In this way We showed Abraham Our kingdom of the heavens and the earth, so that he might have certainty of faith. 75 When night descended on him, he saw a star. He said, "This is my Lord!" Then when it set he said, "I do not love things that set." 76 When he saw the moon rising in splendour, he said: "This is my Lord." But when the moon set, He said: "unless my Lord guide me, I shall surely be among those who go astray." 77 And when he saw the sun uprising, he cried: This is my Lord! This is greater! And when it set he exclaimed: O my people! Lo! I am free from all that ye associate (with Him). 78 I have turned my face to Him who has created the heavens and the earth, uprightly, and I am not among the idolaters' 79 And his people argued with him. He said, "Do you argue with me concerning Allah while He has guided me? And I fear not what you associate with Him [and will not be harmed] unless my Lord should will something. My Lord encompasses all things in knowledge; then will you not remember? 80 How should I fear what you have associated, seeing you fear not that you have associated with God that whereon He has not sent down on you any authority?' Which of the two parties has better title to security, if you have any knowledge? 81 Those who believe and do not mix up their faith with iniquity, those are they who shall have the security and they are those who go aright. 82
