Hizb 46
< random >
Verily Jonah is one of the apostles. 139 Call to mind when he fled to the laden ship, 140 And he drew lots and was among the losers. 141 So the fish swallowed him while he did that for which he blamed himself 142 And had he not been of those who exalt Allah, 143 He would certainly have remained inside the Fish till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ Then We cast him on a desert shore while he was sick; 145 We made a plant of gourd grow up for him. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand, rather they exceeded. 147 And they believed, so We gave them enjoyment [of life] for a time. 148 Now ask thou them: are there for thy Lord daughters and for them sons? 149 Have We created the angels as females before their very eyes? 150 Then is it of their lying that they say: 151 "God has begotten [a son]"; and verily, they are lying [too, when they say,] 152 Did He (then) choose daughters rather than sons? 153 What is amiss with you and your judgment? 154 What, and will you not remember? 155 Or is there for you a plain authority? 156 Then bring your book, if you are truthful. 157 And they have claimed between Him and the jinn a lineage, but the jinn have already known that they [who made such claims] will be brought to [punishment]. 158 Glory be to God above that they describe, 159 Except the slaves of Allah, whom He choses (for His Mercy i.e. true believers of Islamic Monotheism who do not attribute false things unto Allah). 160 So you and your deities 161 You cannot make anyone rebel against Him. 162 Except one who is (destined) to burn in Hell. 163 And there is none of us but has an assigned place, 164 Lo! we, even we are they who set the ranks, 165 We glorify God." 166 And indeed they (Arab pagans) used to say; 167 Had we a reminder from those of yore, 168 we would have certainly been sincere servants of God". 169 But when it came to them, they rejected it. They shall soon come to know (the end of such an attitude). 170 And certainly Our word has already gone forth in respect of Our servants, the apostles: 171 will certainly be victorious 172 And surely, only Our army will be victorious. 173 So turn away (O Muhammad SAW) from them for a while, 174 Watch them: they will soon see. 175 So are they being impatient for Our punishment? 176 When it descends on their courtyards, how terrible that morning will be for those who were warned! 177 And turn away from them for some time. 178 And watch and they shall see (the torment)! 179 Exalted is your Lord, the Lord of might, above what they describe. 180 And peace is upon the Noble Messengers. 181 And all praise is due to God alone, the Sustainer of all the worlds! 182
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
