Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the dipersing winds that disperse. 1 And those who bear the load (of rain), 2 And (the ships) that float with ease and gentleness; 3 Then those (angels who) distribute blessings by Our command; 4 that what you are promised is certainly true 5 And verily the Requital is surely to befall. 6 By heaven with all its tracks 7 surely, you are in different sayings, 8 though only those who are averse to the Truth will turn away from (believing in it). 9 Doomed are the conjecturers 10 Those who have forgotten in a state of intoxication. 11 They ask: when is the Day of Requital coming? 12 [It will be] a Day when they will be sorely tried by the fire, 13 "Taste ye your trial! This is what ye used to ask to be hastened!" 14 The righteous shall live among gardens and fountains, 15 taking whatsoever their Lord has given them; they were good-doers before that. 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 And every morning asked forgiveness, 18 And in their wealth the beggar and the outcast had due share. 19 AND ON EARTH there are signs [of God's existence, visible] to all who are endowed with inner certainty, 20 And in yourselves. Then will you not see? 21 And in the heaven lies your sustenance, and the promise you are given. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth, it is the truth, even as (it is true) that ye speak. 23
