The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
The Hour has drawn nigh: the moon is split. 1 And if they see a miracle they turn aside and say: Transient magic. 2 And they call (it) a lie, and follow their low desires; and every affair has its appointed term. 3 And there has already come to them of information that in which there is deterrence - 4 far-reaching wisdom [was held out to them]: but [since] all warnings have been of no avail, 5 So turn thou away from them. Upon the day when the Caller shall call unto a horrible thing, 6 their eyes will be humbled as they come out from their graves as if they were scattered locusts, 7 Hastening towards the caller, the disbelievers will say: "This is a hard Day." 8 ۞ Before them the people of Nuh rejected, so they rejected Our servant and called (him) mad, and he was driven away. 9 So he invoked his Lord, "Indeed, I am overpowered, so help." 10 So We opened the gates of heaven with water pouring forth. 11 And We made the earth break forth with springs; so that the water met for an affair already decreed. 12 And We carried him on a [construction of] planks and nails, 13 That ran (upon the waters) in Our sight, as a reward for him who was rejected. 14 And certainly We left it as a sign, but is there anyone who 15 How then were My punishment and My warnings! 16 Easy have We made the Qur'an to understand: So is there any one who will be warned? 17 The tribe of A’ad denied – so how did My punishment turn out, and My warnings? 18 We loosed against them a wind clamorous in a day of ill fortune continuous, 19 which hurled people around like uprooted trunks of palm-trees. 20 How terrible was Our torment and the result of (their disregard) of Our warning. 21 We have made the Koran easy to remember, is there any that will remember? 22
