Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds which scatter dust, 1 And those that bear the burden (of the rain) 2 And those [ships] sailing with ease 3 And those that distribute and apportion by Command;- 4 Indeed, what you are promised is true. 5 The Judgement will indeed take place. 6 By the heaven containing pathways, 7 You are indeed in different opinions regarding this Qur’an. 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 Accursed be the conjecturers 10 Who are under a cover of heedlessness (think not about the gravity of the Hereafter), 11 They ask, “When will be the Day of Judgement?” 12 It will be the Day when they are tormented at the Fire. 13 Taste your burning: this is that which ye sought to be hastened. 14 The pious ones will live amidst gardens and springs, 15 Accepting the rewards given by their Lord; they were indeed virtuous before this. 16 Little of the night they were wont to slumber. 17 And in the hours before dawn, they were (found) asking (Allah) for forgiveness, 18 And in their property was a portion due to him who begs and to him who is denied (good). 19 On the earth, and in yourselves, 20 there are signs for firm believers. Do you not see then? 21 And in heaven is your provision, and that you are promised. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth, it is the truth, even as (it is true) that ye speak. 23
