Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Have you heard about the Overwhelming Event? 1 Faces on that Day shall be downcast, 2 be toiling and worn-out; 3 Burning in the scorching fire, 4 and will be made to drink from a boiling spring, 5 There is no food for them except thorns of fire. 6 Which neither give strength nor satisfy the hunger. 7 (Other) faces on that day shall be happy, 8 well pleased with the result of their striving, 9 In a lofty Paradise. 10 wherein thou wilt hear no empty talk. 11 There is a stream of running water in it; 12 [and] there will be thrones [of happiness] raised high, 13 Goblets set, 14 and cushions arrayed 15 And carpets spread around. 16 Will they not regard the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the Sky, how it is raised high?- 18 how the mountains were hoisted, 19 And the earth, how it is made a vast expanse? 20 (Muhammad), preach; you are only a preacher. 21 You are not charged to oversee them. 22 But he who turns his back, and disbelieves, 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Surely to Us is their turning back, 25 Then verily on Us is their reckoning. 26
