۞ But those who do not believe that they are destined to meet Us are wont to say: "Why have no angels been sent down to us?" - or, "Why do we not see our Sustainer?" Indeed, they are far too proud of themselves, having rebelled [against God's truth] with utter disdain! 21 The day they see the angels - no good tidings will there be that day for the criminals, and [the angels] will say, "Prevented and inaccessible." 22 And We shall set upon that which they worked, and shall make it as dust wind-scattered. 23 The inhabitants of the Garden will have the best residence and the finest lodging on that Day. 24 Upon the day that heaven is split asunder with the clouds and the angels are sent down in majesty, 25 the Kingdom that day, the true Kingdom, shall belong to the All-merciful and it shall be a day harsh for the unbelievers. 26 And the Day the wrongdoer will bite on his hands [in regret] he will say, "Oh, I wish I had taken with the Messenger a way. 27 Woe alas, ah would I had not taken so-and-so as friend! 28 he made me forgetful of the warning after it had reached me. Satan is man's great betrayer." 29 The Messenger says: 'O my Lord, my people have taken this Koran while deserting it' 30 Thus have We made for every prophet an enemy among the sinners: but enough is thy Lord to guide and to help. 31 The disbelievers say, "Why has not the entire Qur'an been sent down to this man all at once?" -Well, this has been done to impress it deeply on your mind, and (for the same object) We have sent it down piecemeal by degrees. 32 Every time they raise an objection, We will bring you the truth and the best of explanations. 33 Those who shall be mustered to Gehenna upon their faces -- they shall be worse in place, and gone further astray from the way. 34
