Have you seen him who turns his back, 33 and gives a little, and then grudgingly? 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the Unseen, and therefore he sees? 35 Has he not heard what is contained in the Book of Moses, 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his engagements?- 37 that no soul shall bear the burden of another; 38 and that everyone shall have in his account only that which he worked for, 39 And that his endeavour shall be presently observed. 40 and will be fully recompensed for his deeds. 41 And that the end is only towards your Lord? 42 And that it is He Who causeth to laugh and causeth to weep. 43 and that He it is Who causes death and grants life, 44 And that it is He Who has created the two pairs, male and female? 45 From Nutfah (drops of semen male and female discharges) when it is emitted; 46 And that only upon Him is the next revival? 47 And that it is He Who enricheth and preserveth property. 48 And that He (Allah) is the Lord of Sirius (the star which the pagan Arabs used to worship); 49 that it was He that destroyed ancient Aad 50 And Thamud (people). He spared none of them. 51 And the people of Nuh before; surely they were most unjust and inordinate; 52 And He brought perdition upon the subverted cities 53 So they were covered with whatever covered them? 54 Which of your Lord's benefits will you then dispute about? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The Day of Judgment is drawing nearer. 57 None but God can avert it. 58 Do you then marvel at this discourse, 59 And you laugh at it and weep not, 60 While you are proudly sporting? 61 [Nay,] but prostrate yourselves before God, and worship [Him alone]! ۩ 62
