Nay, and by the moon, 32 By the receding night 33 The morning when it is unveiled, 34 That (Hell) is surely one of the greater (signs), 35 as a warner to mortals. 36 To any of you that chooses to press forward, or to follow behind;- 37 Every soul is held in pledge against its own deeds, 38 Except the companions of the right, 39 In Gardens; they shall be asking, 40 Concerning the culprits: 41 'What thrusted you into Sakar?' 42 They will answer: "We did not fulfil our devotional obligations, 43 “Nor used to feed the needy.” 44 And we have been wading with the waders. 45 and rejected the Day of Judgment 46 Till the Inevitable came unto us. 47 The intercession of their intercessors shall not benefit them. 48 Then what is wrong with them that they turn away from admonition, 49 as though they were terrified asses 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Is it that everyone of them wants to receive a heavenly book addressed to him personally? 52 By no means! Aye, they fear not the Hereafter. 53 Nay! it is surely an admonition. 54 So whosoever will may heed. 55 But they will not remember except as God wills: He is worthy to be feared, and He is worthy of forgiving 56
