The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment). 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 Then he turned his back, striving. 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
