The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede, 15 that hide, 16 The closing night, 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 with strength endowed, secure with Him who in almightiness is enthroned 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
