The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the Night as it conceals (the light); 1 And by oath of the day when it shines 2 And [by] He who created the male and female, 3 Lo! your effort is dispersed (toward divers ends). 4 Thus, as for him who gives [to others] and is conscious of God, 5 And believes in the best [reward], 6 observe piety, and believe in receiving rewards from God. 7 But as for him who is a miser, and self-sufficient, 8 and cries lies to the reward most fair, 9 Unto him therefore We shall Indeed make easy the path to hardship. 10 nor will his wealth profit him when he falls [into the pit]. 11 Lo! Ours it is (to give) the guidance 12 And verify Ours is both the Hereafter and the life present. 13 I have now warned you of a Blazing Fire, 14 whereat none but the most wretched shall be roasted, 15 He who denieth and turneth away. 16 And Al-Muttaqun (the pious and righteous - see V. 2:2) will be far removed from it (Hell). 17 he that spends his possessions [on others] so that he might grow in purity 18 not as payment for any favours that he received, 19 but only to seek the good pleasure of his Lord Most High. 20 He will surely be well-pleased (with him). 21
God the Almighty always says the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
