O apostles! eat of the good things and do good; surely I know what you do. 51 Verily this your order is one order, and I am your Lord, so fear Me. 52 But they cut off their religion among themselves into sects, each part rejoicing in that which is with them. 53 So leave them in their error for a time. 54 Do they assume that the wealth and sons which We provide them – 55 have no other purpose except to help them in acquiring material benefits? No indeed. But they do not understand. 56 Surely those who tremble in fear of their Lord 57 And they who believe in the signs of their Lord 58 and do not ascribe partners to Him; 59 who give, whatever they give in charity, with their hearts trembling at the thought that they are destined to return to their Lord; 60 it is they who vie with one another in doing good works, and it is they who outrun [all others] in attaining to them! 61 We charge not any soul save to its capacity, and with Us is a Book speaking truth, and they shall not be wronged. 62 Yet their hearts are oblivious of this; and besides, they are busy with other things, 63 until We seize with Our chastisement those of them that are given to luxuriant ways. They will then begin to groan. 64 "Do not supplicate for help today; you will not be rescued by Us; 65 My verses were recited to you, but you turned upon your heels, 66 In arrogance; talking nonsense about the Quran, and left him like one telling fables by night. 67 Why did they not think over the message? Or has something come to them which had not come to their fathers? 68 Or is it that they did not recognize their Messenger (Muhammad SAW) so they deny him? 69 Or do they say: There is madness in him? Nay! he has brought them the truth, and most of them are averse from the truth. 70 Had truth been subject to their whims the heavens and the earth and all those within them would have been depraved. In fact We had sent them their reminder, but they turned away from good advice. 71 Or do you ask of them any tribute? In that case the tribute of your Lord is better, for He is the best of providers. 72 And indeed, you invite them to a straight path. 73 And indeed those who do not believe in the Hereafter are deviated from the Straight Path. 74 ۞ And though We had mercy on them and removed the distress which is on them, still they would obstinately persist in their transgression, wandering blindly. 75 And assuredly We took hold of them with the torment, yet they humbled not themselves to their Lord, nor did they entreat. 76 Until We open on them a gate leading to a severe Punishment: then Lo! they will be plunged in despair therein! 77
