Blessed is He who, if He please, can give you better things than that; gardens watered by flowing streams, and palaces too. 10 But they reject the hour, and We have prepared a burning fire for him who rejects the hour. 11 When it sees them from a place far off, they will hear its fury and its ranging sigh. 12 When they are thrown into a narrow space, chained together, they will plead for death. 13 "Do not ask for one death but many deaths on this day." 14 Say: "Which is better - that, or the paradise of life abiding which has been promised to the God-conscious as their reward and their journey's end 15 Therein abiding, they have all that they desire. It is for thy Lord a promise that must be fulfilled. 16 The day He will gather them together along with those they worshipped other than God, He will ask them: "Did you lure these creatures of Mine away, or did they themselves go astray?" 17 They will answer, "Hallowed be You! It was not proper for us to choose any guardian other than You. But You gave them and their fathers the comforts of this life, so that they forgot Your reminder and thus brought destruction upon themselves." 18 (The idolaters will be told): "Your gods have refuted your assertion. You can neither avert (your doom) nor receive any help. We shall make the wicked among you taste of severe punishment." 19 We did not send Messengers before you but that they ate food and walked about in the markets, We have appointed some of you to be a trial for others. Will you endure? Your Lord is the Seer. 20
