Or do those in whose hearts is a disease, think that Allah will not bring to light all their rancour? 29 Had We so wiled, We could have shown them up to thee, and thou shouldst have known them by their marks: but surely thou wilt know them by the tone of their speech! And Allah knows all that ye do. 30 We shall certainly test you until We know those who strive hard for the cause of God and those who exercise patience. We will also examine your deeds. 31 Indeed those who disbelieved and prevented others from Allah’s way, and opposed the Noble Messenger after the guidance had become clear to them – they cannot harm Allah in the least; and soon He will squander away their deeds. 32 O you who believe! obey Allah and obey the Apostle, and do not make your deeds of no effect. 33 ۞ surely those who reject the truth and bar others from the path of God, then die as deniers of the truth, will not be granted forgiveness by God. 34 AND SO, [when you fight in a just cause,] do not lose heart and [never] beg for peace: for, seeing that God is with you, you are bound to rise high [in the end]; and never will He let your [good] deeds go to waste. 35 The life of this world is but play and pastime, but if you believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism), and fear Allah, and avoid evil, He will grant you your wages, and will not ask you your wealth. 36 If He asks for all you possess and insist upon it, you will become niggardly, and it will bring out your malevolence. 37 Behold, ye are those invited to spend (of your substance) in the Way of Allah: But among you are some that are niggardly. But any who are niggardly are so at the expense of their own souls. But Allah is free of all wants, and it is ye that are needy. If ye turn back (from the Path), He will substitute in your stead another people; then they would not be like you! 38
