Al-Najm 3 of 3
(Muhammad), have you ever seen the one who has turned away (from guidance), 33 And gave little, and then stopped? 34 Has he knowledge of the Unknown that he perceives everything? 35 Has he not heard what is contained in the Book of Moses, 36 and of Abraham, who to his trust was true: 37 That no soul laden bears the load of another, 38 And that man hath only that for which he maketh effort, 39 and that [the fruit of] his striving shall soon be seen; 40 Then he will be fully repaid for it? 41 and that the final return is to your Lord, 42 that it is He who causes to laugh and causes to weep. 43 and that it is He who causes to die, and causes to live 44 and He it is Who created the two kinds, the male and the female, 45 From a seed when lodged (in its place); 46 and on Him depends the life hereafter. 47 And that He it is Who enriches and gives to hold; 48 And that He is the Lord of the Sirius; 49 and that He destroyed Ad, the ancient, 50 and Thamud tribes, 51 And before them, the people of Noah, for that they were (all) most unjust and most insolent transgressors, 52 He plunged the villages 53 So there covered them that which did cover (i.e. torment with stones). 54 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 55 This [Prophet] is a warner like the former warners. 56 The threatened Hour is nigh. 57 None except Allah can avert it. 58 Are you astonished at this news, 59 And will ye laugh and not weep,- 60 While you are proudly sporting? 61 Therefore prostrate for Allah, and worship Him. (Command of Prostration # 12) ۩ 62

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
