Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection, 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul! 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yes, We are Able to put together in perfect order the tips of his fingers. 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 When the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon is eclipsed 8 And the sun and moon will be joined together (by going one into the other or folded up or deprived of their light, etc.) 9 On that day man will cry out, “Where shall I flee?” 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 With your Lord alone shall on that day be the place of rest. 12 Then man will be told what he had sent ahead (of good) and what he had left behind. 13 Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds]. 14 Though he may put forth his excuses (to cover his evil deeds). 15 Move not your tongue concerning (the Quran, O Muhammad SAW) to make haste therewith. 16 for, behold, it is for Us to gather it [in thy heart,] and to cause it to be read [as it ought to be read]. 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 Then indeed, to explain its details to you is upon Us. 19 None except you, O disbelievers – you love what you have, the fleeting one. 20 and give no thought to the life to come [and to Judgment Day]! 21 Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant). 22 gazing upon their Lord; 23 And how many faces on that Day will be woe-begone 24 believing that a crushing calamity is about to strike them. 25 No! When the soul has reached the collar bones 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting 28 When legs are twisted around each other, 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
