Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When heaven is split open, 1 when the stars are scattered, 2 When the seas are poured forth, 3 and when the graves are overturned 4 A soul will know what it hath sent before (it) and what left behind. 5 O Man! What deceived thee as to thy generous Lord 6 Who created you, shaped you, and made you well-proportioned, 7 in whatever composition He wanted. 8 Rather, you belied the Recompense. 9 Surely, there are guardians watching over you, 10 Kiraman (honourable) Katibin writing down (your deeds). 11 They know whatsoever ye do. 12 Indeed the virtuous are in serenity. 13 And indeed, the wicked will be in Hellfire. 14 They shall enter it on the Day of Recompense 15 And they (Al-Fujjar) will not be absent therefrom (i.e. will not go out from the Hell). 16 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Doom? 17 Again, what will make you realize what the day of judgment is? 18 The day on which no soul will have the authority over any other soul; and on that day, the entire command belongs to Allah. 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
