The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Woe to the stinters who, 1 when they measure against the people, take full measure 2 but, when they measure for them or weigh for them, do skimp. 3 Do they not think they will be raised (to life) again 4 For a mighty day, 5 when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe? 6 Indeed, the record of the disbelievers is in the lowest place, the Sijjeen. 7 Ah! what will convey unto thee what Sijjin is! - 8 It is a Book inscribed. 9 Woe, on that day, to those who have rejected God's revelations 10 those who give the lie to the [coming of] Judgment Day: 11 None belies it except every guilty sinner. 12 When Our Verses (of the Quran) are recited to him he says: "Tales of the ancients!" 13 Nay, but their hearts are corroded by all [the evil] that they were wont to do! 14 Nay, but surely on that day they will be covered from (the mercy of) their Lord. 15 Then they shall roast in Hell, 16 Then it will be said: 'this is that which ye were wont to belie.' 17 Surely the ledger of the pious will be in 'Illiyun (heights above the heights). 18 And what do you know what the Record of the exalted ones is? 19 (It is) a marked Book, 20 To which bear witness those brought nigh. 21 The virtuous will live in bliss, 22 (reclining) upon couches they will gaze, 23 You will recognise the freshness of serenity on their faces. 24 as they are given to drink of a wine sealed 25 The sealing of it is (with) musk; and for that let the aspirers aspire. 26 With it will be (given) a mixture of Tasnim: 27 The spring from which drink the ones close to Allah. 28 The sinners indeed laughed at believers 29 and winked at one another as they passed them by. 30 And when they returned to their household they returned jesting. 31 and when they saw them, they said [scornfully], "These men have surely gone astray," 32 Whereas they were not sent over them as watchers. 33 So Today those who believed are laughing at the disbelievers, 34 On high thrones, watching. 35 Will not the Unbelievers have been paid back for what they did? 36
