The dwellers of Al-Aiyka [near Madyan (Midian)] belied the Messengers. 176 when Shuaib said to them, 'Will you not be godfearing? 177 Surely I am a faithful apostle to you; 178 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 179 "And no reward whatever do I ask of you for it: my reward rests with none but the Sustainer of all the worlds. 180 ۞ Give full measure and do not cheat; 181 "And weigh with scales true and upright. 182 “And do not give the people their goods diminished, and do not roam the earth causing turmoil.” 183 "And fear Him Who created you and (who created) the generations before (you)" 184 Said they: "Thou art but one of the bewitched, 185 You are nothing but a man like us, and we think you are a liar. 186 Drop down on us lumps from heaven, if you are one of the truthful' 187 Answered [Shu'ayb]: "My Sustainer knows fully well what you are doing." 188 But they belied him, so the torment of the day of shadow (a gloomy cloud) seized them, indeed that was the torment of a Great Day. 189 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 190 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 191
