Whatever of misfortune striketh you, it is what your right hands have earned. And He forgiveth much. 30 And you cannot escape in the earth; and you have neither a friend nor any supporter against Allah. 31 And among His Signs are the ships, smooth-running through the ocean, (tall) as mountains. 32 if He so wills, He stills the wind, and then they lie motionless on the sea's surface - [and] herein, behold, there are messages indeed for all who are wholly patient in adversity and deeply grateful [to God]; 33 Or He can cause them to perish because of the (evil) which (the men) have earned; but much doth He forgive. 34 And let them know, those who call Our messages in question, that for them there is no escape. 35 Now whatever ye have been given is but a passing comfort for the life of the world, and that which Allah hath is better and more lasting for those who believe and put their trust in their Lord, 36 And (for) those who avoid cardinal sins and indecencies, and forgive (even) when they are angry. 37 those who answer their Lord, establish the prayers, and their affairs are by consultation; who spend of that which We have given them, 38 and who, whenever tyranny afflicts them, defend themselves. 39 and the recompense of evil is evil the like of it; but whoso pardons and puts things right, his wage falls upon God; surely He loves not the evildoers. 40 There is no blame against him who avenges himself after he has been wronged. 41 The way (of blame) is only against those who oppress men and wrongly rebel in the earth, for such there will be a painful torment. 42 Surely, he who bears patiently and forgives indeed that is true constancy. 43
