Have you heard the story of Abraham's honored guests? 24 When they came to him, they said: "Peace." He answered: "Peace." They were a people he did not recognise. 25 So he turned to his household and brought a fattened calf. 26 And he set it before them, saying: Will ye not eat? 27 Then he became afraid of them. They said: “Fear not,” and announced to him the good news of (the birth of) a boy endowed with knowledge. 28 And his wife approached with a cry [of alarm] and struck her face and said, "[I am] a barren old woman!" 29 They said: "Thus said your Lord. He is indeed all-wise and all-knowing." 30 ۞ (Abraham) said: And (afterward) what is your errand, O ye sent (from Allah)? 31 They said, “We have been sent towards a guilty nation.” 32 so that we bring down stones of clay upon them 33 Marked by thy Lord for (the destruction of) the wanton. 34 Then We evacuated there from all the believers 35 But We found in it only one household of those who had surrendered themselves, 36 And We left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment. 37 And in Moses (was another Sign): Behold, We sent him to Pharaoh, with authority manifest. 38 but he turned his back with his Assembly, saying: 'He is (either) a sorcerer or a mad man' 39 So We took him and his forces, and threw them into the sea; and his was the blame. 40 In 'Ad (also is a sign), when We sent a blasting wind against them, 41 that left nothing it came upon, but made it as stuff decayed. 42 There is also a Sign for you in (the story of) Thamud. They were told: “Enjoy yourselves for a while.” 43 But they rebelled against their Lord's decree, and so the thunderbolt overtook them even while they gazed; 44 Then they were unable to rise up, nor could they help themselves. 45 And the people of Noah before; surely they were an ungodly people. 46
