Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ (Muhammad), say, "It has been revealed to me that a party of jinn has listened (to the recitation) of the Quran and has told (their people), "We heard an amazing reading 1 ‘That guides to the path of goodness, we have therefore accepted faith in it; and we shall never ascribe anyone as a partner to our Lord.’ 2 And (we believe) that He - exalted be the glory of our Lord! - hath taken neither wife nor son, 3 "'And [now we know] that the foolish among us were wont to say outrageous things about God, 4 and we had thought that men and jinn would never speak against God a lie. 5 ‘And indeed some men among humans used to take the protection of some men among jinns, so it further increased their haughtiness.’ 6 'And they thought as you thought, that Allah will not send any Messenger (to mankind or jinns). 7 We sought to reach heaven, but found it filled with strong guards and flames -- 8 We would sit there on seats to hear; but any listening now finds a meteor in wait for him. 9 And that we know not whether evil is meant for those who are on earth or whether their Lord means to bring them good: 10 And of us there are some righteous, and of us are some otherwise; we have been following very diverse paths. 11 And that we know that we cannot escape Allah in the earth, nor can we escape Him by flight: 12 And when we heard the guidance, we believed in it. And whoever believes in his Lord will not fear deprivation or burden. 13 and that “among us some are Muslims (Those who have submitted to Allah), and some of us are deviant. So those who became Muslims found the Right Course; 14 And as for the deviators, for Hell they shall be fuel. 15 If they had followed the Path We would give to them abundant water to drink, 16 so that We may test them by it -- whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord shall be sternly punished. 17 And that the mosques are Allah's, therefore call not upon any one with Allah: 18 And that when the servant of Allah stood up calling upon Him, they wellnigh crowded him (to death). 19
